Biographical Information
David C. Mills

Raised in Carneys Point, New Jersey, I was born into a “Roman Catholic” family,  and attended a local Catholic school and church several years.  I participated in CCD classes and "served" as an altar boy, doing all the things that a good religious boy could, or rather would.  This would instill in me the belief of a God, but no understanding of a relationship or the need for a personal Saviour.

From about the age of 12, until I met my wife in 1988, I only attended “church” for weddings and funerals.  I did however, sporadically attend a Presbyterian youth group, but don't remember much of what we did, other than play some games.

After graduating from Penns Grove High School, I attended the Indiana University of Pennsylvania for a year, eventually dropping out and began working for a local company in Delaware.  Shortly thereafter, I met my wife and started to attend Sunday morning church services regularly at Pittsgrove Baptist Church in Daretown, New Jersey.  Initially, I wasn't very  interested in the "church thing", however my intention at that time was to simply make my girl friend and her father happy.

Nevertheless, God began a work in me through Elizabeth Kay Keen and Pittsgrove Baptist.  It was there at that Independent Baptist Church, in the year 1990, that I trusted in the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary, as the payment for the penalty of my sins.  Shortly thereafter I was baptized and joined the membership of that local assembly.

Subsequently, Kay and I were married in Pittsgrove Baptist on November 17, 1990, and a new chapter was to begin.

At first, there seemed to be some spiritual growth in my life, however after a short season, I found myself slipping back into that old behavior.  It would be some six years later, and through much rebellion, before God's chastisement would bring me to my knee's.

On February 4, 1997 while I was driving home from work (a 2 hour commute one way) on Route 70, outside of Medford Lakes, NJ, at approximately 5:00 pm, the Holy Spirit posed these two questions to me; what are you doing "for" God and what are you doing "to" God?  I need not tell you, that it broke my heart.

Shaken, I pulled off to the side of the road and spent some time with God.  I repented of my indifference toward my Lord, for the damage I had caused to the Gospel, of my lifestyle, for the way I had treated my family, and made a vow to Him.   I vowed to God that I would serve Him wherever He wanted me, anyway He wanted, anywhere He wanted.  It was on that day, that I surrendered my all to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  I am truly thankful that the free gift of salvation is not by works of righteousness, but by His Grace.  This I know, by God's Grace, I am now a child of the King.  From that point, in the power of the Holy Spirit, I began to draw near to my Lord, and as promised, He drew near to me.

In the fall of 1999 God allowed me to begin attending Maryland Baptist Bible College (MBBC) in Elkton Maryland, in order to prepare for the ministry He had called me to.  Although, it became apparent that from the beginning (even though the cost of the classes were very reasonable) I would not financially be able to continue very long.  However, God made it possible for me to have the funds in order to enroll and begin my first semester.  Each and every semester thereafter, He provided, and ultimately made it possible for me to complete a degree program absolutely free, to me.  I will never be able to repay God's servants that made this possible.  I subsequently graduated from MBBC in the spring of 2007 with an Associate degree in Biblical Studies, and am currently continuing my education.

As I began to be steeped in the Word of God, the Holy Spirit began to work in my heart and life, burdening me for lost souls.  I began privately praying that God would guide me in His will, and in such I began to feel that God was calling me to preach.  After praying for as much as a year, a pastor approached me with the following statement; "I need someone to fill my pulpit for six weeks, and I believe the Lord would have me ask you."  He had no idea what I had been talking to God about, as I never shared this with anyone.  As a result, I preached my first sermon at Newport Baptist Church on April 1, 2001, and the following six weeks.  The first of that series of messages was entitled, "Deceptive Foe - Defeated Foe".

As I began to share the truth of the Gospel, I felt that there was a need for a location on the internet where I could send folks as I was witnessing to them.  A place with a clear presentation of the Gospel, as well as links to good sites, weeding out all of the false doctrine that can be found on the internet.  Out of this need,  Born2Serve Ministries was established on April 2, 2002.  Since then, by God's grace, Born2Serve Ministries has grown exponentially.  Also to date, Born2Serve Ministries has had the privilege of being involved in the creation of websites from Mexico to the Czech Republic, for Local Churches and Evangelists, and from the inner city to the country side.  In addition, on May 1, 2006, the Born2Serve Podcast went live in order to enhance the primary purpose of the ministry.  For more information about the current ministries, please see the ministries link from the website below.

After a time of contemplation and struggle, I finally completely surrendered to God's call to preach on June 17th, 2002 during a revival service in my local church.  I still vividly remember penning these words into the front of my Bible, "Dear Lord Jesus, I surrender all, I am available, send me."  Incidentally, it was in July of that year that He permitted me to begin preaching at a nearby campground which was a ministry of that local church.  The first series of messages that first year were entitled, "Our Great Salvation"

With all the glory to God, I have never petitioned man for an opportunity to serve, only God; and he has been faithful in answering those desires, time after time.  Since that evening on June 17th, my good and gracious Lord has seen fit to use me in many ministries; including pulpit supply, prison ministry, assistant Sunday school superintended, youth group leader, a 15 week summer campground ministry for five years, as well as the opportunity to preach a two week Bible Conference at the Bible Believers Independent Baptist Church of Cape Coast Ghana in March of 2004.

The Lord has called me into the ministry to serve him as an evangelist to the saints, as well as the lost, and has given me a great burden in this area.  He has amplifies that heaviness for those Christians and lost alike, who are held in bondage by their addition to sin.  He has also burdened me about being a help and encouragement to those Pastors and Missionaries of  independent, fundamental, separated, Baptistic churches.  It is my goal to serve in a manner that would edify the local church body, encourage the pastor/missionary, evangelize the lost for Christ, and promote the establishment of biblical local churches here in the US and abroad.  Nothing satisfies as does preaching the Word of God!

In addition, the Lord has blessed me with a lovely wife and three wonderful daughters and I look forward to what the Lord has in store for us as a family and individually as we serve Him.

He has never, and will never give me more than I can bear.  All I have, I owe to Him.  I have been born again, to serve the Lord.
