LET’S CHECK UP ON OURSELVES!

Usually, Christians are so busy seeing the faults of others that they have no time to look in the mirror of God’s Word to see where they may be falling down. It never hurts to take time every so often to check up on our selves. Here are some questions that every Christian might well ask himself at regular intervals:

1. How much time do I spend in prayer and Bible study each week?

2. What is there in my life that I am not willing to yield to the Lord?

3. How much do I actually give to the Lord’s work each month?

4. Am I praying and working for the salvation of anyone in particular?

5. What is there in my life that might be a stumbling block to someone else?

6. Am I doing more or less for the Lord than I was a year ago?

7. How many Bible verses have I memorized during the past six months?

8. Am I using my time wisely and for His glory?

9. What is my great weakness and source of temptation?

10. What does the Lord want me to do for Him now—today?

These and perhaps many other questions will likely come to mind as you search your own heart before God. If the answers are revealing and disappointing, it is not cause for discouragement but, rather, for asking forgiveness and strength for the days ahead that we might hear His voice saying, “Well done thou good and faithful servant.” He said, “If we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged” (I Corinthians 11:31).
